Spring 2024 Begins at Glen Canyon National Recreation Area

As spring unfolds, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area prepares for seasonal changes. Here are some important updates for each district and other details:

Wahweap District & Lone Rock Primitive Campground

In the Wahweap District, services are reopening, such as restrooms, outdoor fountains, and fishing cleaning stations. Lone Rock Primitive Campground offers year-round primitive camping with fee payment at a self-service machine. Visitors are reminded to bring their own portable toilet systems and not to bury waste on the beach. On April 15, more amenities will open, including toilets, showers, potable water, and additional vault toilets.

Antelope Point Public Launch Ramp & Bullfrog Boat Pumpout

At Antelope Point Public Launch Ramp, more vault toilets will be available starting April 15. At Bullfrog, picnic area restrooms, the boat pump out, outdoor fountains, and fishing cleaning stations are open. Clinic operations are closed until further notice, with emergency responses provided by National Park Service Rangers.

Halls Crossing & Lees Ferry

At Halls Crossing, launch ramp public restrooms are open, and the boat pump out will be available starting April 15. Hite services remain closed. Lees Ferry offers open fish cleaning stations and RV dumps. The lower campground restroom will open on April 26, while the upper one will close for renovation, scheduled for completion by May 17.

Some National Park Service and concessioner-operated facilities will extend hours. For the latest information on seasonal operations and facility statuses, visit the Seasonal Hours page. For concessioner-operated facilities, check the concessioner webpage. Visitors are reminded to recreate responsibly and find more safety information on the park website. Enjoy a safe and pleasant spring at Glen Canyon National Recreation Area!
